Urban Decay Glinda Palette (Oz Collection)

I didn't figure I'd buy yet another Urban Decay palette, but I have to admit, the Glinda palette really appealed to me - especially, for beautiful Spring pastel looks. I wasn't too drawn to the Theodora palette, but that's just personal preference. The browns and greens weren't my thing, but for those interested, by all means let me know if you like it :).

This is just the cardboard box, but the metal tin (below) looks pretty much the same.

I'm not over the moon about the UD palette packaging. I'm just not into the UD plastic tins. All I see is wasted space and cheap, candy tin - ughh - but, I do appreciate that you can pop out these shadows. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the single containers to place them.

You can see that it comes with an Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Rockstar - nice! It's a dark eggplant color with shimmer.

You get a giant mirror (mine still has the protective film on), but the packaging doesn't allow the mirror to sit up. So, it lays flat ... ummm.

With flash, so you can see the infamous Urban Decay shimmer.

Here are all the shades:
Top (left to right): Tornado, Aura (two half shades), Magic
Bottom (left to right): Illusion, Oz (two half shades), South

The eyeshadow duos still contain the overall same amount of product as the full eyeshadow (below) - 1.5g or 0.05 US oz.

The Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda is a nice my lips but better color (for my lip pigmentation), but I will admit, it's not as moisturizing as I'd hoped by the name ("Super-Saturated"). I don't find it irritating, but I expected more moisture from the name. It's still a nice color to wear.

And finally, here are the swatches!

Oz already looks like it's being flash photographed - wow, that's gleaming!

Overall, I would recommend the Urban Decay Glinda Palette (Oz Collection) to those who like those sweet and ethereal looks (Glinda), and who aren't afraid to experiment with some shimmer (Urban Decay is known for shimmer and the occasional obnoxious glitter bomb/dud). Oz def looks interesting - definitely not workplace friendly. Both the added Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Rockstar and Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda are also a nice addition. So, if you like Urban Decay and are drawn to these colors, I'd say go for it. The eyeshadow quality is what we expect from Urban Decay - no surprises (good and bad) ;).

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am planning to make a Glinda-costume for a convention (fell in love with the dress...) and I was wondering about the eyeshadow-colors. After buying almost 50 meters of fabric my bank account is empty, so I really can't afford to buy the palette and have it shipped to Germany.

I am SO happy I found this, cause especially the swatches-picture will help me a lot to find the right colors here in a store, where they are not that expensive.

    Thanks again!
