Burberry Sheer (Single) Eyeshadows

I added two new Burberry Sheer Eyeshadows to my collection: No.19 Midnight Plum and No.10 Antique Rose. I already own No. 22 Pale Barley, No. 13 Lavender Blue, and No. 17 Pearl Grey.

I love the silky soft texture of these eyeshadows - they never disappoint. Although the name suggests a sheer wash of color, this does not mean that the shadows have poor color payoff. On the contrary, I think the color payoff is quite good! The color range lends itself to softer colors, however. If you are looking for BOLD colors, Burberry's Sheer Eyeshadows may not be the right fit for you (check YSL or Tom Ford for stronger, bolder shades). Also, Burberry's Sheer Eyeshadows are matte or satin finishes - not overly shimmery (like Urban Decay) or glittery (like Tom Ford's infamous "Grown-up Glitter"). If you like one shadow, I think you can be fairly confident you can shop for any other colors you like and be satisfied with your purchase :). I'm in love with each of the shades I've picked up, and I wouldn't be surprised if I keep adding to my collection.

I also have one of the Burberry Complete Eye Palette (Quads) in No. 6 Plum Pink, but I may have to save my review on that later. For now, please enjoy the pictures and swatches below of the Burberry (Single) Sheer Eyeshadows!

The cardboard packaging is worth noting. The boxes feel high quality ... for cardboard ;). In line with the Burberry brand, the boxes are the neutral "trench coat" color with gunmetal color accents.

Again, notice that the packaging is quite luxe. Even the cardboard box has a gunmetal color liner - a nice detail often overlooked. Each Burberry (Single) Sheer Eyeshadow comes with its own black velvet pouch with the Burberry check trademark pattern (also known as a tartan pattern).

With the flash lighting, you can better see the Burberry check pattern on the eyeshadow gunmetal packaging.
