Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad and Refill

I don't know what took me so long, but I finally made my first Cle de Peau purchase! Of course, since eyeshadows are my obsession, I picked up a Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Case ($25) and Eye Color Quad Refill in 202 ($55). I like that you can buy the case separately from the refill for anyone who just wants to try out the eyeshadows for $55 and stick it in a Z Palette or Unii Palette. For my first purchase, however, I figured I'd go ahead and purchase the Eye Color Quad Case with the Eye Color Quad Refill  for a staggering $80 ($25+$55) price tag. Still, I've swatched these in person before and most reviews are pretty stellar. So, I splurged on this first (and probably not last) time buy, and I'm thrilled with the product :).

First, the packaging!

As with most high end/designer brand cosmetics, the Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Case comes with a little velvet/suedette pouch with the logo in the bottom corner.

The square shape is pretty much the same size as the Burberry Complete Eye Palettes, but just slightly smaller than a Dior or Guerlain quad because of its square shape.

The inside of the Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Case comes with a typical mirror, clear plastic protector (with the Cle de Peau logo), and two applicators (three sponge tips and a brush tip) - pretty standard, but admittedly, the brush tip applicator is quite soft (i.e., usable)!

The Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Refill comes with 5 grams of product.

And here it is put together! Inserting the Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Refill was very easy - it just snaps in place (no magnets). The set up is very similar to Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trios, which makes sense since Shiseido owns Cle de Peau.

Overall, I'm very impressed by the eyeshadow quality of the Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Refill in 202. I have heard formula differences amongst the different Eye Color Quad Refills, but far as I can tell, 202 has fantastic color payoff, VERY soft and buttery to apply, and beautiful color combinations. I'd highly recommend it to my fellow eyeshadow enthusiasts. I will likely purchase more (sans the $25 Eye Color Quad Case). Have any of you guys tried these Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad Refills? I'd love to hear your thoughts :).
